1 billion has been paid to Fifa for the world 2010

The France will be the host of Euro 2016. At Bordeaux as elsewhere, either for the rehabilitation of the existing or the construction of a new forum, the question of the financing of the stadium exacerbated already much controversy before know if the France would be named. In a context of economic stringency and uncertainty, it is legitimate to wonder about the proper use of public funds. Should public authorities bear only the football business requirements It is not question of calling into question the participation of the France to the Euro. It is not more possible that Bordeaux can be held on the margins of this competition. This should not however prevent us from raising certain questions, those that all taxpayers arise once it is to invest hundreds of millions of euros. UEFA indeed encourages outbid to satisfy sponsors through extremely costly technical requirements. However, even today, the French model remains primarily based on public investments of local authorities, while most of the benefits go to private investors.

Clearly therefore, the question of the modes of construction and management of the stages must be fundamentally redesigned. Philippe Séguin, when he presided over the commission major stages, claimed that the traditional model was sustainable and already advocated a management of major stages by the clubs. Moreover, the residents clubs are now ready to participate financially in their construction, not only as a rental, but also capital. However, the cost remains focused by public authorities (service in public transport, parking, maintenance of premises and security meetings). At a time where football is the sheer scale, the amount of the fees and transfers achieved are beyond understanding, it is not indecent to question the role to be taken by the private interests in the initiative, the maintenance and upgrading of an enclosure which is required for private profits starting investment expected.

This is common sense and deserves to be asked when one compares the amounts sought to communities and them are drained by the football. These are for example 668 million euros that were collected by the League of professional football at the end of the tender for League TV rights. Up to EUR 2.1 billion has been paid to Fifa for the world 2010. And games online (Arjel) regulatory authority considers that the sector of the games on the Internet is France between 3 and 3.5 billion euros of updates per year. Is it therefore really inconceivable to instances that are Fifa, UEFA or the FFF to provision for a share of TV rights cashed in participation in the construction of the stadiums Why not envisage financial surpluses in the Euro are returned by the FFF organizing cities who have invested for the reception of the competition, the image of that proposed by the Mayor of Strasbourg Roland Ries, and the President of the communauté urbaine, Jacques Bigot Why State not increase its contribution to the construction-renovation of the stages of the Euro 2016 through a signs of a significant share of the tax levied on new betting online

The abandonment of the ownership of these facilities by the communities is a legitimate but complex issue that deserves to be discussed calmly. It calls for coherence and accountability for the policy and, as such, should mobilize a little more attention to the Summit of the State. Because if communities are now ready to agree to a financial effort, everyone will have to take its responsibilities and position themselves very quickly to guard usual incremental costs and fulfill in time our European sports commitments.
