The Ravens who still play the Steelers twice could emerge to become a wildcard contender. If the Dolphins continue to win the week 17 matchup between the Steelers and Dolphins could decide a wildcard spot. The Steelers had a chance and they shit the bed, now they will be in a dog fight for the rest of the season and every game is very important to the playoff picture going forth. The Report Card:Quarterbacks:Biggest game of the season so far and Ben didn't show up. He had lord knows how many passes tipped, he held the ball too long on several plays and he didn't make plays when we needed them. Rarely am I upset with the play of Roethlisberger, but this is one of those times. It wouldn't have been easy to the credit of the Bengals defense who I underestimated for sure. Roethlisberger through a ball behind his receiver which was tipped up and intercepted settings the Bengals up for one of many field goals on the day.
I understand some of it has to do with the playcalling of offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, but regardless of how shitty the playcalling is it still has to be executed. Also I thought Ben would go win us the game with 2 minutes left after the defense made the stop to get us the ball back, We didn't even get a first down on the drive. This was an off game for Ben and there is no doubt in my mind he will take it hard and play lights out the next few weeks We need it now. DRunningbacks: The Bengals run defense didn't allow the Steelers to have a big day on the ground, unbelievably despite Ben struggling Mendenhall only had 6 carries again in the first half the same number as last week That is absolutely unacceptable.

Mendenhall didn't even have an opportunity to try to get the motor going. He had 13 carries for 36 yards, that will put a dent in your average per carry. Willie Parker had one nice burst for 7 yards and showed great excitement on the sideline with his teammates It was good to see. Parker also got open for a short reception with a little bit of room to run ahead of him but Roethlisberger made a terrible throw. Moore had a big 12 yard gash on 3rd & 1 out of the pony back field.
He also broke the receiving drought! That was just becoming awkward. CReceivers: Holmes had a huge day grabbing 7 balls for 88 yards leading all receivers and once again had some very impressive runs after the catch. Holmes did have a touchdown pass sail right through his hands which the Steelers had to settle for a field goal. Ward and Miller both had uneventful games with 4 catches a piece for 25 or so yards give or take a few. Wallace who absolutely torched the Bengals when these two teams met in week 2 had only 1 catch for 16 yards. He also had a few drops, he did cause a key pass interference call on the defense which put the Steelers in field goal range before the half as they took the lead going into the tunnel.
